People Peeves

  • 22nd Feb, 2009 at 8:29 PM

- People who touch computer screens or glass and smudge them.
- People who complain about their problems but never make any effort to help themselves.
- People who chew their hair.
- People who quote movies I haven't seen just before the characters say the lines.
- People who speak to me like a child because I am often the youngest in my friendship groups.
- People who aren't American but still say 'priddy' instead of 'pretty.'

I have been known to do... 5 out of these 6. And quite often.

So share your 6 of your people peeves with me :D

If I Could Tell You

  • 29th Jan, 2009 at 4:40 PM

If I Could Tell You

Time will say nothing but I told you so,
Time only knows the price we have to pay;
If I could tell you I would let you know.

If we should weep when clowns put on their show,
If we should stumble when musicians play,
Time will say nothing but I told you so.

There are no fortunes to be told, although,
Because I love you more than I can say,
If I could tell you I would let you know.

The winds must come from somewhere when they blow,
There must be reasons why the leaves decay;
Time will say nothing but I told you so.

Perhaps the roses really want to grow,
The vision seriously intends to stay;
If I could tell you I would let you know.

Suppose all the lions get up and go,
And all the brooks and soldiers run away;
Will Time say nothing but I told you so?
If I could tell you I would let you know.

Moods

  • 17th Oct, 2008 at 11:47 AM

It has occured to me that since moving to university, I have selected a "mood" for seven of my entries here (including this one). This is nothing spectactular. The GOOD bit is, though, that 6 out of those 7 entries have had a very HAPPY mood attached, yet beforehand such entries seem somewhat lacking.

So I conclude that university is a good thing, 6 out of 7 times ;)

Laptop

  • 19th Jun, 2008 at 11:48 PM

Quck note:

I have no laptop. The mother board apparently committed suicide. 6 fucking weeks out of warrentee. However, the house insurance will pay for me to get a new laptop of the same price, and I plan to add some money to that to get a swanky lovely laptop I have my eye on.

I am using my sisters laptop so I best hurry and get off. I will be back from the dead shortly, bare with me.

A Perfect Sonnet - Bright Eyes

  • 1st May, 2008 at 12:18 AM

Lately I've been wishing I had one desire
Something that would make me never want another
Something that would make it so that nothing matters
All would be clear then

But I guess I'll have to settle for a for a few brief moments
And watch it all dissolve into a single second
And try to write it down into a perfect sonnet
Or one foolish line

Cause that's all that you'll get
So you'll have to accept
You are here and then you're gone

But I believe that lovers should be tied together
Thrown into the ocean in the worst of weather
Left there to drown
Left there to drown in their innocence
But as for me I'm coming to the final chapter
I read all of the pages and there's still no answer
Only all that was before I know must soon come after
That's the only way it can be

So I stand in the sun
And I breathe with my lungs
Trying to spare me the weight of the truth

Saying everything you've ever seen was just a mirror
You've spent your whole life sweating in an endless fever
And laying in a bathtub full of freezing water
Wishing you were a ghost

But once you knew a girl and you named her "Lover"
Danced with her in kitchens through the greenest summer
But autumn came, she disappeared, you don't remember
Where she said she was going to

But you know that she's gone
Cause she left you a song
That you don't want to sing

Singing, I believe that lovers should be chained together
Thrown into a fire with their songs and letters
Left there to burn
Left there to burn in their arrogance
But as for me I'm coming to my final failure
I've killed myself with changes trying to make things better
And ended up becoming something other
than what I had planned to be

All right

I believe that lovers should be draped in flowers
And laid entwined together on a bed of clover
Left there to sleep
Left there to dream of their happiness

Oh! The Places You Will Go!

  • 19th Apr, 2008 at 10:06 PM

Congratulations! Today is your day.
You're off to Great Places!
You're off and away!

You have brains in your head.
You have feet in your shoes
You can steer yourself
any direction you choose.
You're on your own.  And you know what you know.
And YOU are the guy who'll decide where to go.

You'll look up and down streets.  Look 'em over with care.
And some you will say, "I don't choose to go there."
With your head full of brains and shoes full of feet,
you're too smart not to go down any not-so-good street.

And you may not find *any*
you'll want to go down.
In that case, of course,
you'll head straight out of town.

It's opener there
in the wide open air.

Out there things can happen
and frequently do
to people as brainy
and footsy as you.

And when things start to happen,
don't worry.  Don't stew.
Just go right along.
*You'll* start happening too.

Oh!
The places you'll go!

You'll be on your way up!
You'll be seeing great sights!
You'll join the high fliers
who soar to high heights.

You won't lag behind, becuase you'll have the speed
You'll pass the whole gang and you'll take the lead.
Wherever you fly, you'll be the best of the best
Whererver you go, you will top all the rest.

Except when you *don't*.
Becuase, sometimes, you *won't*.

I'm sorry to say so
but, sadly, it's true
that Bang-Ups
and Hang-ups
*can* happen to you.

You can get all hung up
in a prickle-ly perch.
And your gang will fly on.
You'll be left in a Lurch.

You'll come down from the Lurch
with an unpleasant bump
And chances are then
that you'll be in a Slump

And when you're in a Slump,
you're not in for much fun.
Un-slumping yourself
is not easily done.

You will come to a palce where the streets are not marked.
Some windos are lighted.  But mostly they're darked.
A place you could sparin both your elbow and chin!
Do you dare to stay out?  Do you dare to go in?
How much can yuo lose?  How much can you win?

And IF you go in, should you turn left or right...
or right and three quarters? Or, maybe, not quite?
Or go around back and sneak in from behind?
Simple it's not, I'm afraid you will find,
for a mind-maker-upper to make up his mind.

You can get so confused
that you'll start in to race
down the long wiggled roads at a break-necking pace
and grind on for miles across weirdish wild space,
headed, I fear, toward a most useless place.

                        The Waiting Place...

...for people just waiting.
Waiting for a train to go
or a bus to come, or a plane to go
or the mail to come, or the rain to go
or the phone to ring, or the snow to snow
or waiting around for a Yes or a No
or waiting for their hair to grow.
Everyone is just waiting.

Waiting for the fish to bite
or waiting for wind to fly a kite
or waiting around for Friday night
or waiting, perhaps, for their Uncle Jake
or a pot to boil, or a Better Break
or a string of pearls, or a pair of pants
or a wig with curls, or Another Chance.
Everyone is just waiting.

NO!
That's not for you!

Somehow you'll escape
all that waiting and staying.
You'll find the bright places
where Boom Bands are playing.

With banner flip-flapping
once more you'll ride high!
Ready for anything under the sky.
Ready because you're that kind of guy!

oh, the palces you'll go!  There is fun to be done!
There are points to be scored.  There are games to be won.
And the magical things you can do with that ball
will make you the winning-est winner of all.
Fame! You'll be famous as famous can be
with the whole wide world watching you win on TV.

Except when they dont.
Because, sometimes, they won't.

I'm afraid that *some* times
you'll play lonely games too.
Games you can't win
'cause you'll play against yuo.

*All Alone!*
Whether you like it or not,
Alone will be something
you'll be quite a lot.

And when you're alone, there's a very good chance
you'll meet things that scare you right out of your pants.
There are some, down the road between hither and yon,
that can scare you so much you won't want to go on.

But on yuo will go
though the weather be foul.
On you will go
though your enemies prowl.
On you will go
though the Hakken-Kraks howl.
Onward through many
a frightening creek.
though your arms may get sore
and your snakers may leak.

On and on you will hike.
And I know you'll hike far
and face up to your problems
whatever they are.

You'll get mixed up, of course,
as you already know.
You'll get mixed up
with many strange brids as you go.
So be sure when you step.
Step with care and great tact
and remember that Life's
a Great Balancing Act.
Just never forget to be dextrous and deft.
And *never* mix up your right foot with your left.

And will yo success?
Yes! You will indeed!
(98 and 3/4 percent guaranteed.)

KID, YOU'LL MOVE MOUNTAINS!

So...
be your name Buxbaum or Bixby or Bray
or Mordecai Ali Van Allen O'Shea,
you're off to Great Places!
Today is your day!
Your mountain is waiting.
So...*get on your way!*

Poetry

  • 16th Apr, 2008 at 12:47 AM

Darling, sweetheart, bastard, lover
As we hid beneath the covers
I never got those butterflies.
I didn't see those animated sparkles I should see in your eyes,
And you never understood why when I said 'love'
I never looked at you, I looked below, or above.
But I did love you, and I always will
Except now 'love' is replaced by loath, spit, longing to kill.
Wonderful, loving, pathetic jerk,
You want to steal my life? It. Will. Not. Work.
You see, I've forgotten most of your touch,
Your eyes, your lips, and the sex wasn't much
To brag about, really, was it? No.
I made the best move when i decided to go.
So please and thankyou, also, dear,
If you could read my lips my message is clear.
Stay out of my nightmares. Stay outof my head.
Before you are loving, caring, charming and dead.

Rooftops

  • 15th Apr, 2008 at 11:18 PM

Some lyrics from Rooftops by Lost Prophets. i do not like the Lost Prophets, but I do love this one song. It is one of my favourites, and it makes me feel better when I'm sad. I like the lyrics.

Standing on the rooftops
(Wait until the bombs drop)
This is all we got now
(Scream until your heart stops)
Never gonna regret
(Watching every sunset)
We'll listen to your heartbeat
(All the love that we found)

Scream your heart out...
Scream your...

Standing on the rooftops
Everybody scream your heart out.
Standing on the rooftops
Everybody scream your heart out.
Standing on the rooftops
Everybody scream your heart out.
This is all we got now
Everybody scream your...

Everyone has things they blog about. Everyone has things they don't blog about. Challenge me out of my comfort zone by asking me something I don't blog about, but you'd like to hear about, and I'll write a post about it. Ask for anything: latest movie watched, last book read, political leanings, etc. Repost in your own journal [only if you care to] so that we can all learn more about each other.

So lett'er rip!
